When the Vision Feels Heavy: A Reminder That God Is Still Good
Reading Time: 4 min
There are seasons in a visionary’s life that no one really talks about. The ones where you’re doing all the right things—building, sowing, staying obedient, showing up again and again—and still wondering where the fruit is. When the inbox stays quiet, the sales feel slow, the support is thin, and the promise God gave feels far off. If you’re in that place right now, I want you to know:
I see you. More importantly, God sees you.
A few weeks ago, I had one of those days. I was deep in the thick of it—head down, fingers typing, calendar full. The Lord had just downloaded a stream of ideas into my spirit, and I was doing my best to steward them well. But somewhere between writing the vision and building it out, I felt this wave of heaviness settle in.
I paused, frustrated and honestly just... tired. I was trying to make sense of it all—adding up the effort, the hours, the obedience—and still felt like I was falling short. I sat there silently, trying to put two and two together, and that’s when God, in His gentle mercy, reminded me of something.
Out of nowhere, the song After All These Years by Todd Galberth started bubbling up in my spirit. The words hit me like a balm to my soul:
“In the evening when the day is done
And in the middle when my soul needs reminding (yeah)
You're still good, You're so good
In the waiting when my heart is confused
And the trusting when my hope feels lost
And in the harvest when I'm holding the promise
You're still good.”
Tears started to well up. Because the truth is, we don’t just serve a God who shows up after the harvest—we serve a God who is good right in the middle of it all. In the building. In the waiting. In the burnout. In the sleepless nights and overwhelming to-do lists.
I don’t know what season you're in right now. Maybe you're wearing all the hats—visionary, administrator, creative, strategist, and supporter. Maybe you’re holding on to promises that still look like dust in your hands. Maybe you're trying to be faithful but wondering if any of it really matters.
Let me gently remind you: God is still good.
He hasn’t forgotten you. He hasn’t overlooked your sacrifice. He’s not waiting for your work to be perfect before He moves. He’s with you now—in the middle of the mess, the weight, and the wondering.
So keep building. Keep trusting. Keep showing up.
Not because the fruit is instant, but because the One who called you is faithful.
And because after all these years, and in every season to come—He’s still good.
If you’re in a season where the vision feels heavy—whether you’re wrestling with clarity, trying to push past the mental gunk, or unsure of what’s next—I’d love to come alongside you. Sometimes, all it takes is a thought partner to help you breathe again, see it differently, and move forward with peace.
You don’t have to carry it alone.
