Why I Do Not Offer “Just Design” Websites

I will be honest with you. I have wrestled with my pricing.

There have been moments when someone reaches out, loves the work, asks for the investment, and then disappears once they see the numbers. After a few of those, it is easy to start wondering if you should just offer something quick and simple, a light design, no deep work, just to get people in the door.

I have tried to talk myself into that.

But I cannot.

It would not be true to the purpose behind this business, and it would not honor how God has called me to help people birth what they are carrying. Selling a pretty, surface level site to someone whose calling deserves more would feel like a disservice, not a win.

Most of the inquiries I receive start the same way, someone shares their budget, tells me they only need a redesign, and assumes we can keep it simple.

“I saw the site you created for so and so, I want the same thing for my business”

or

“Can you just design it for me, I do not really need all the strategy pieces”

At this stage in my work, I am not interested in making quick money that leaves you in a difficult place later. I have turned down projects when the leader did not yet have clarity about their offers, their audience, or their direction, and only wanted a website because someone told them they needed one. A beautiful site sitting on top of confusion only multiplies the confusion.

What is really being asked for in those moments is a design only project,

a light refresh,

no strategy,

no customer journey mapping,

no messaging work,

no plan for how the site will support the business in real time.

Whether you are starting from zero or refreshing what you already have, my answer is the same.

I do not separate design from strategy.

Not because I want to make the project bigger,

but because a site that only looks good, without the thinking behind it, often becomes the most expensive mistake you will make.

You are not just getting a website created. You are getting the kind of work that actually changes how your business performs.

You are getting,

  • Deep dive conversations that reveal how your ideal clients think, choose, and buy

  • A mapped out customer journey so leads move with clarity from interest to action

  • Service descriptions that finally reflect your true value

  • Inquiry forms that guide people to complete rather than abandon

  • A site flow that earns trust and encourages action

  • A content audit that removes anything quietly weakening your credibility

  • Performance tuning so your site loads fast and ranks well

This is the work that carries businesses forward.

This is why both custom builds and refresh projects receive the same level of thought.

So no, I do not offer a simple design only option.

I care too much about the leaders I serve to give them something that will hold them back a few months from now.

If you want a site that only looks good, there are many places that will take your card.

If you want a site that supports the work you are called to do, reflects the excellence you lead with, and creates clarity for the people you are meant to serve, then we should talk.

As we step into a new year, my heart is set on aligning with visionaries who are birthing and ready to steward what God has placed in their hands.

Ready for the version that actually works. Send an inquiry and let us begin with clarity and strategy, and build a site that truly matches what God has trusted you to carry.
